A federal judge ruled the Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional. What do you think?

Asked in Downtown Mountain View. Pictures and interviews by Nick Veronin

"He was right on, (the government) shouldn't have to force people to pay for insurance. My daughter would divorce me for saying it though."

Charles Smith, Birmingham, Michigan

"I would've preferred a public option. I would like to have health insurance; I can't afford it. I don't like the idea of being fined for not having health insurance. It's not a very good incentive."

Christopher Schalge, Mountain View

"The Health Care Administration is doing a great job. Although everyone should have a choice, there should be an incentive. The fine I don't agree with."

Stephanie Sicore, Saratoga

"I disagree with the judge's conclusion. National health care is great, it works in Canada and it works in Europe, so why can't it work here? It's one less thing to worry about when you're unemployed."

Paul Nguyen, San Jose

"I don't think it's unconstitutional. Part of the government's function is to protect its citizens, and health care falls underneath that. It seems we've tried the market approach and it hasn't worked like most people want it to."

Ted Crossman, Redwood City
