Subdued ceremonies marked the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. Is it time to begin moving on?

Asked in downtown Mountain View. Pictures and interviews by Nick Veronin.

"I think an occasion like 9/11 is something that people never forget about, but at the same time ... I think that the 10-year anniversary might have been a good break point where it's time to maybe start (moving on)."

Lars Enbom, Sweden

"I think it's important that we remember 9/11 and that we talk to our kids about it. I know a lot of people think it's in the past, but I think we need to remember the day and honor the people that died."

Mary Kay, Mountain View

"I think it's important to move on, but at the same time it's also really critical to hold the memory and finish the 9/11 memorial in New York."

Kwang Liew, Mountain View

"I used to live in downtown Manhattan, post-9/11, and I think it's really important to hold onto those memories and commemorate the occasion so we don't forget where we were."

Evan Bigall, Mountain View

"I think it's good that we're moving on from the events of Sept. 11. It's important to remember, but there is more to life than just those days."

Andrew Gaul, San Francisco
