Open Airwaves and Open Networks

Uploaded: Oct 15, 2008
Between the television station broadcast signals there is spectrum that can be used. Who will use it, what are the issues? The New America Foundation, of which Google's Eric Schmidt is chairman, will be holding a conference on Pervasive Connectivity on Tuesday October 21st. The conference is free, but you must sign up by October 17th (http://www.newamerica.net/events/2008/pervasive_connectivity).

One of last year's most stimulating and vibrant Mountain View conferences was eComm2008 - covered in my April 2008 article. It was held at the Computer History Museum. For 2009, based on questions to Facebook members, organizer Lee Dryburgh moved the conference to the SF Airport Marriott. So Mountain View will be missing out in 2009, but if you want to hear some of the most forward thinking voices in telecom its worth attending March 3-5 2009 (http://ecommconf.com/).

We need your support now more than ever. Can we count on you?
