Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Come August 1st I start getting antsy. Itâ??s not that I donâ??t love and cherish my summer adventures with my family, or that I didnâ??t really need a few weeks of rest to recharge; I just really, really love my job and can’t wait to get back to it. Iâ??ve even been known to skip on the first day of school. All summer I thought about the exciting new things Iâ??m going to try, and how I can make this year even better than last. Iâ??ve planned audacious projects for my Exploratory English elective (thank you, Google 20% project!), worked with my amazing 7th grade ELA partner to integrate Common Core into units, and dreamed up a thousand new ideas for how to make good lessons great. Iâ??m psyched to be back at work, with people I love, in a school that feels like home. Iâ??m already in love with my classes, and canâ??t wait to get all of my ideas for the new school year underway.

As the year moves on, look for student writing in this space. We will be writing about all manner of topics, and while Iâ??m never sure what craziness my students will turn in, I can always be sure that their writing reflects who they are and the values that they hold dear. We canâ??t wait to see what you have to say, and look forward to engaging in dialogue with our Mountain View community.

Welcome back, itâ??s going to be a great year!

Cheers, Ms. Brandy Jenson
