Borrone MarketBar, the next-door brainchild eatery from Cafe Borrone owners Marina Borrone and Josh Pebbles, soft opened last week and is continuing with limited hours this week.

The market, which sells take-home food items, is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The “Bar Eatery” (with table service) will be open the same days from 3 to 9 p.m. Both are serving food and drink with an Italian tilt.

“As we progress and develop our staff, our hours will extend,” a Feb. 13 Facebook post reads. “It is a work in progress. Eventually we will be open Tuesday-Saturday and always closed Sunday, Monday.”

A few diligent Yelp users have helped out by posting photos of the opening take-home menu. Savory items include foccacia bread topped with tomato and green onion; rotisserie chicken; caesar salad with Brussel sprouts, kale, spring onion and polenta; meat ravioli with fetuccine; pork ragu with pistachio pesto and tomato sauce; housemade pancetta and green onion quiche; fennel, chard, leek and goat cheese quiche and charcuterie with housemade chili jam, a selection of cheeses and salumi. Desserts come in the form of bombolone (Italian filled doughnuts), lemon tarts, mascarpone and amarena cherry tarts, chocolate pecan tarts, cream puffs with strawberry rhubarb mousse, French custard and cheesecake.
