Summer Fun Around the Bay Area

Uploaded: Jun 29, 2023

Looking for more ways to celebrate summer? Here’s a few.

The BARn at Flea Street Café

Recently opened and just in time to enjoy a sunny day after work. Flea Street’s new outdoor eatery entertains with a casual vibe, unique menu and bar master Eloy’s fantastic cocktails. The perfect happy hour meetup with friends.

Tuesday – Thursday, 4 PM
No reservations required
3607 Alameda de las Pulgas, Menlo Park

Audrey’s Way

Pack a picnic, or just grab a good book and head up west of Skyline to Audrey’s Way, a spectacular place perched over the Pacific Ocean. A secret hangout for locals. There’s a viewing platform or plenty of hillside for a blanket and chair. Hiking trails too. Part of the good work of POST (nonprofit Peninsula Open Space Trust), who protects open space for the benefit of all. Let your spirit fly free!

Festival Napa Valley’s A Taste of Napa

Make a day of summer celebration with exceptional food, wine, and music on July 15th. Held on the central piazza of The Meritage Resort, Taste of Napa features offerings from more than 70 wineries, breweries, restaurants, and culinary artisans. The event includes live music, games, activities, prizes, a Reserve Tasting Salon, and the chance to sample wines from the festival’s newest international wine partner, the Wines of Catalonia.

Saturday, July 15th, 11 AM – 3 PM

Summer Fun and Sunday Brunch at Adrestia - Tetra Hotel

Enjoy summer at this new nexus space—a hub with creative hangouts, an outdoor fire, and artful spaces that seamlessly bridge indoors and outdoors. Even if you’re not staying at the hotel, community events are planned including unique music experiences, yoga, Japanese whisky tastings and ice cream socials at the pool deck. Learn more about upcoming events here.

Restaurant Adrestia features a new brunch menu, offering traditional American cuisine alongside Japanese dishes like One-Plate Washoku Breakfast with Shio Koji Black Cod, Japanese omelet, pickled vegetables and Tamanishiki rice. ($15 - $30)

Sunday brunch 7AM – 2 PM
400 W Java Dr, Sunnyvale, CA

Bike the Bay Bridge

Park on Treasure Island and bike around the entire island - site seeing into the past and future of this developing island. Then enjoy the easy slide down the Bay Bridge to Oakland (almost no peddling needed) and have a snack at Toll Plaza Beach. On the way back, the bridge “railroad grade” allows for a surprisingly easy pedal back to your car.

How many of these are summer fun activities for teens?

There is not enough for teens to do in Palo Alto. Unless they can drive they need parents to drive them to where they can hang out with friends for a good time. Even then, where are the hang out places?

Bystander - good idea. Why not contact the publisher about starting a blog for teens?
