Dog park set to open Dog park set to open (September 29, 2000)

After more than a year of waiting, Mountain View residents will soon be able to let their pets run free.

The Mountain View dog park, approved by the city council Aug. 3, 1999, will open with an official ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 7. Mayor Rosemary Stasek will perform a ribbon-cutting at the park, which is located on North Shoreline Boulevard at North Road, just before the Shoreline Park gatehouse.

The city's Community Services Department has planned a free barbecue for everyone in attendance. There will also be music, a canine demonstration by Deep Peninsula Dog Training Club, and free treats for pets.
