(January 23, 2004) CSMA meets Kresge Challenge
The Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) announced that it has successfully met the requirements of The Kresge Challenge, a $750,000 fundraising incentive from The Kresge Foundation.
The challenge grant was designed to encourage the community to contribute to CSMA's capital campaign by the Jan. 1 deadline so it could complete its first permanent home. Calls by members of the CSMA board of directors and the executive director resulted in donations of $285,000, pushing CSMA over its Kresge goal. As 2003 came to a close, CSMA had raised a total of $11.3 million.
CSMA still needs $444,000 to meet the new building's cost of $11.7 million. For information, call capital campaign manager Kristina Rockhold at 917-6800, Ext. 329.
