1/20 -- Assault With A Deadly Weapon, 600 block Moorpark Way

A female went to her neighbor's apartment to ask to borrow a telephone at 6:45 p.m. When the neighbor refused, the suspect pushed past her into the apartment and wrapped the phone cord around the victim's neck. The victim broke free, and the suspect fled back to her own apartment. The victim called police, who arrived and arrested the suspect on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
1/23 -- Battery, Narcotics, Resisting Arrest, 600 block Mariposa Ave.

At 1:10 a.m., police responded to a report of as many as 30 people fighting. When police arrived on the scene, they stopped a vehicle leaving the area. At first, the suspects refused to get out of the car, but then they complied and were arrested on a variety of charges. One was booked on battery and narcotics charges, one on charges of battery and giving false information to a police officer, and the third on resisting arrest and narcotics charges.

A victim from the incident was treated at El Camino Hospital for a deep gash in his forehead where he had been struck with a guitar.
