Suspected suicide at Pioneer Park Suspected suicide at Pioneer Park (February 06, 2004)

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Mountain View police received a call reporting a man lying on the ground and bleeding severely in Pioneer Park, located just behind City Hall. Police responded and found the body of an unidentified white male between the ages of 35 and 50 lying underneath a tree in the middle of the park.

The man had died from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound, and a witness reported hearing the gunshot at around 2:55 p.m. His name will be released when identification is made and next of kin is notified.
