Eagles notch a seventh-place win

The Los Altos wrestling team placed seventh overall in team performance in the SCVAL championship tournament held at Los Altos last Saturday. The Eagles finished with 87 overall team points. Los Gatos finished the tournament in first place with a 254.5 point performance.

Los Altos grappler Jarret Fishpaw finished second in the 140-pound weight category although he was seeded seventh. Fishpaw eliminated the second- and third-seeded wrestlers but fell short in the championship match against Greg Crane of Fremont.

In the 119-pound category, Los Altos' Tim Miller took third place.

MV girls take on Los Altos

After suffering a loss to Fremont last week, the Mountain View girls' basketball team directed its aggression toward Los Altos at a home game last Friday. Mountain View defeated the Los Altos 42-30 in a close match between the two teams.

The only breakout quarter the Spartans had was in the third when they outscored the Eagles 12-4. Otherwise, Los Altos kept up with Mountain View.

Mountain View's Peyton Paulick led the game with 14 points. And Mountain View guard Laura Brigham finished the night with 11 points.

Los Altos guard Hannah Lippe led her team with 13 points.
