Mountain View bests crosstown rival Mountain View bests crosstown rival (February 20, 2004)

Neighbors settled their disputes last Friday night on the basketball courts of Mountain View High School. As the visiting team, Los Altos walked away with a dismal twenty-point performance. With the 42-20 victory, the Spartans took a 9-1 division lead in the El Camino Division.

Mountain View center Dan Fischer led the game in scoring with 13 points including three points from the free-throw line. He also led the game with two blocks and finished with six rebounds.

Spartans Dustin Johnson and Kevin Harris provided much of the defense. Johnson led the game with 10 rebounds, and Harris continued his stellar performance by stealing the ball seven times.

Los Altos' Shawn Girouard led his team with 12 points and six rebounds. And Eagle Johnathan Chang starred with four steals.

The Spartans are now 18-5 overall and 9-1 in conference play. Their final league game will be on Friday at 7 p.m. at Santa Clara.
