Voices Around Town Voices Around Town (February 27, 2004)

Do you think Ralph Nader will affect the presidential race?

Asked in downtown Mountain View. Pictures and interviews by Dan Stapleton.

"I don't think it will make any difference at all. He's noise in the system. I'm sure it won't make a difference in California."
Dave Brandin, Los Altos

"Of course it will. Again. It's more divisive to the Democratic Party. I'm an independent, so it doesn't really matter to me, but I can't vote for Bush because I don't believe in the war."
Mae Hendon, Mountain View

"Yes, I think it will, just like it did last time. He took away from the Democratic vote. I don't want him taking away from Kerry. I'd really like to see Bush out of the White House."
Paula Andrews, Mountain View

"I think it did last time, but after what happened last time, a lot of people that voted for him will vote for a Democrat. It will have some impact, but not like last time."
Eric Braun, Mountain View

"It probably won't matter in California. There's such a huge group of Democrats here that I think that's the way the state is going to go anyway."
Andy Lee, Palo Alto
