A night of jazz

The Los Altos High School Jazz Ensemble will perform its fifth annual guest artist concert with Denis DiBlasio on Saturday, March 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the school's Eagle Theatre at 201 Almond Ave. in Los Altos.

National Merit Finalists

Nine seniors at Los Altos High School have been named National Merit Finalists. These students are: Shruti Dave, Nathan Fenner, Vivian Huang, Laurel Korwin, Laurel Lathrop, Maya Rossin, Alia Salim, Albert Wang and Katherine Zhang.

They will be recognized for this achievement at the Annual Senior Awards Night in May. All of the students are also eligible for National Merit Scholarships which will be awarded in the spring.
"Excellent" Graham jazz band

The Graham jazz band attended the California Music Educators Association jazz band competition at West Valley College in Saratoga on Jan. 31. The Graham band received the rating of "excellent" in all categories.

Band members include: Kendrick Arakaki, Kyle Arakaki, John Cavagnero, Matt Costales, Lane Cowan, Zachary Estiva, Jack Fischer, James Gray, Jeff Herman, Mark Janzer, Steven Jing, Asia Krupa, Curtis Koyama, Steven Lee, Marco Leone, Ian McKinney, Andrew Nelson, James Pollard, Chloe Rossin, Jo Smith-Nillson, Marcel Schneider, Dane Tingleff, Eric Tingleff, Luka Ukrainczyk, Alan Yip and Amy Young.
College career night

Foothill College will host a career program preview night March 11 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the campus center dining room. The campus is located at 1234 El Monte Road in Los Altos Hills. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
