St. Francis baseball stays undefeated
(March 12, 2004) The St. Francis baseball team shut out American and Monterey High Schools in the first two rounds of the Brother Wally Ryan Tournament.
The Lancers easily beat American 16-0 on March 2 at St. Francis.
Outfielder Ryan Lee and first basemen Matt Zipse each provided the Lancers with a home run. Lee finished with six RBIs including a triple and three singles. Third basemen Jared Lansford finished second on the team with 3 RBIs of his own. Pitcher Rex Petrill picked up his second win on the season.
St. Francis remained undefeated after besting Monterey 8-0 on March 5. Senior Daniel Descalso picked up his second win on the season. Catcher Matt DeAlba picked up two RBIs from three hits, including a double. First basemen Brandon Voelker also provided the Lancers with two RBIs including a double.
St. Francis had nine hits in the game and improved to a 5-0 record.
