Lancers stay unbeatable

With St. Francis pitcher Rex Petrill tearing up the league, "Petrill the Thrill" could be the new chant in the Lancer bleachers. He picked up his fifth win of the season, a 3-2 victory, after pitching six innings while allowing only one earned run against Sacred Heart Cathedral.

Aside from a four-hit effort from Ryan Lee, the St. Francis bats were relatively silent, as the Lancers put up only six hits last Saturday. But runs in the first, third and fourth innings were just enough to run their unbeaten streak to 14-0 overall.

Earlier in the week, St. Francis defeated Archbishop Riordan 6-4. Pitcher Chris Coleman picked up his third win of the season, and Jared Lansford was credited with his second save.

Ryan Lee and Daniel Descalso each homered for St. Francis. Lee went two for three, including a double and ended the day with two RBIs against Riordan.
