(April 23, 2004) VTA meeting on Friday
The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority's board of directors is expected to adopt a project list of transit plans to embark on over the next 25 years at its meeting on Friday, April 23. North County residents and elected officials have objected to the project list, which places a BART extension to San Jose and Santa Clara near the top.
The board is expected to adopt the current list and submit it to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. Board members will review the final draft of the VTP 2030 plan in May and June before adopting a final plan in August. The public can comment on the project list and other transit issues during a designated period at the beginning of the meeting.
The meeting will take place in the Mediterranean Center at the San Jose Hyatt,
1740 North First St., San Jose. To learn more about VTA's future plans,
