Fun activities just for kids
Fun activities just for kids
(May 07, 2004)Forget Great America or Six Flags. For a great entertainment value with activities the whole family will enjoy, don't miss the Kids' Tons of Fun Zone at A La Carte & Art, May 15-16 in downtown Mountain View.
Located at the corner of Mercy and Castro Streets, the adventure and excitement for youngsters of all ages will include everything from thrilling virtual reality motion theater and face painting to train rides and giant slides.
Kids will experience the adventure of a lifetime on Y3k Simulators' computerized thrill ride. It combines wind, sound and outlandish motion, all synchronized to a breathtakingly large movie screen.
Hop on board with "America's Favorite Conductor" Rudy Horak, of KC Kids Events, who offers exciting rides on a trackless train. Stop by Boomer's Magic Circus where kids can burn off some energy on a mobile obstacle course with a long tube to crawl through, a cargo net to climb up and down, slides, and various noisemakers including bicycle horns, cowbells and punching bags.
Stop by Friendly Felipe's bustling booth offering playful sand sculptures where kids scoop different-colored sand into plastic, animal-shaped bottles. When finished, the bottles are topped off with animal heads, like frogs, alligators and tigers, and become a truly creative creature keepsake. Aspiring princesses can select from his beautiful selection of wands and crowns.
Kids with energy to burn will love the playful inflatables offered by SJS Amusements. Their activities include a giant balloon bounce in the shape of a medieval castle and Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame inflatable slide.
Lisa is the "Pied Piper" of face painters. Her famed facial art is seen on numerous kids' faces at Bay Area events each weekend. Lisa's hand-drawn original designs are individually painted with soft sable brushes using non-toxic quality Krylon paints. Glitter is added for a dramatic sparkle effect. Ask for her signature Unicorn, Batman Mask, or Killer Orca designs.
