Los Altos' Allie Miller leads CCS with first-time triple jump
Although star Allie Miller was in top form, the Eagle girls fell 84-43 to Palo Alto, and the boys lost 82-44, in the last meet of the regular season against Palo Alto on April 29. Miller earned a first-place CCS mark of 35-6 in her first attempt at the triple jump.
She swept the majority of field events, tying her personal record in the high jump at 5-4 and reaching 17-5.25 in the long jump.
Miller also finished first in the 100-meter hurdles, after earning the top CCS time of 15.08 in the event at the Top 8 Classic earlier this month. And she placed first in the 800-meter run.
Miller will continue competing in track and field at UCLA next year.
At the Carmel Classic on May 1, the boys finished second with 90 points and the girls fourth with 65.5.
Next up for the Eagles is the SCVAL qualifying meet at Los Gatos High School on May 15.

St. Francis gymnasts remain undefeated
In their second meet of the season on April 28, St. Francis gymnasts added Cupertino and Monta Vista to a growing list of defeated teams. The Lancers had vaulted past Castilleja and Gilroy in their season opener.
