Arson -- Bubb Park, 676 Barbara Ave., 5/23

Police officers and the firefighters responded to a fire at 7:07 p.m. They observed two garbage cans on fire and two juveniles in the area. The fires were put out.

After speaking with the boys, who were 15 and 17 years old, the public safety officials determined they were responsible for the fires. Both boys were arrested on suspicion of committing arson and subsequently released to their parents

Bank robbery -- 510 Grant Road, 5/21

A male walked into Downey Savings at 11 a.m. and told a teller he wanted an undisclosed amount of money. The teller complied.

The man left the bank and fled across the street into a group of condominiums. He was not found and remains at large.

Police describe the suspect as a black man, 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a dark brown jacket, dark-colored pants, white tennis shoes and a gray ski mask.

Attempted robbery -- 630 San Antonio Road, 5/21

A male got in his car after leaving Tower Records, and before he could close the door, a man approached and demanded money and a cell phone. The man told the potential robber he neither had money on him or a cell phone.

The suspect hit the man in the face. The man in the car hit the suspect back three times. The suspect fled and is still at large.

Police describe the suspect as a white male in his late teens wearing a light brown or beige-colored jacket.
