Construction on Stevens Creek Trail
A protective cover will be built over the Stevens Creek Trail on both sides of the Highway 101 undercrossing starting June 15 at 9 p.m. The Valley Transportation Authority is constructing the cover as it widens the highway bridge, part of the Highway 85-101 interchange project.
Construction of the cover will take place through June 18 when the trail is closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. The trail will remain open to the public during the day. Signs, lighting and traffic flag persons will be in place to help guide trail users.
Mayor's morning coffee
Mayor Matt Pear is hosting his third "Share with Mayor Pear" event on June 12 at the Mountain View Bakery at Books, Inc., 301 Castro St. He will be there from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to meet with the public regarding city programs and services.

Graham Reservoir groundbreaking
Mountain View City Council members and the Mountain View-Whisman School District hosted a groundbreaking ceremony Monday for the Graham Reservoir and Field Construction project.
The groundbreaking ceremony kicked off the construction of an 8-million-gallon reservoir to be buried underneath the field area of Graham Middle School. The $13.4-million project is set to be completed in Spring 2006.
El Camino Hospital goes wireless
El Camino Hospital is one of the first hospitals in the nation to offer high-speed wireless Internet access to its patients and visitors. Campus-wide wireless access is available free of charge until Sept. 1. After Sept. 1, access will cost $3 for 24 hours.
The hospital began implementation of its campus-wide local area network in October 2002. In November 2003, the hospital became 100 percent wireless.
