School, hospital board candidates come forward School, hospital board candidates come forward (July 16, 2004)

The campaign filing period for the Nov. 2 election opened Monday and runs until Aug. 6. In addition to four open seats on the Mountain View City Council, there are three seats up for grabs on the Mountain View-Whisman school board; two seats open on the Mountain View-Los Altos Union high school board and three open seats on the El Camino Hospital Board.

As of Wednesday morning, incumbent Gloria Higgins and newcomer Fiona Walter had taken out nomination papers for the Mountain View-Whisman board, and incumbent Edward Bough had pulled papers for the El Camino hospital board.

No one had pulled papers for the high school board race yet.

Potential school board candidates can pick up their campaign papers in the superintendent's office of their respective districts. Those running for the hospital board can pick up nomination papers at the office of the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters in San Jose.
