Kidnapping -- Costco, 7/18

At approximately 6:30 p.m., a 17 year-old female was walking to her car in a Costco parking lot when a man grabbed her from behind and held a knife to her throat. She immediately recognized her assailant as her ex-boyfriend.

The suspect ordered her into the vehicle and then got in. He directed her to drive to another city. During the drive, the suspect repeatedly indicated that he was going to harm himself.

Soon they turned the car around and headed back toward Mountain View. The victim drove to a park area in Cupertino at the request of the suspect, at which point she stopped the car and the suspect got out. The victim was able to drive away and report the incident.

The suspect, Freddy Soriano, is still at large. Soriano has other warrants out for his arrest for forgery and intimidating a witness. Soriano, who also goes by the last name of Flores, is a 22 year-old Hispanic male, 5 feet 5 inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes and weighing 150 pounds. His last residence was in Sunnyvale.
