Festive-ale and beer Festive-ale and beer (September 03, 2004)

Spirits from Tied House and more

Every year, Mountain View's Tied House Cafe & Brewery celebrates the Mountain View Art & Wine Festival with a delicious, commemorative beer. Crafted with the coming change of seasons, it's always a big hit with beer lovers.

The 2004 special festival brew is a Rye Ale. It is brewed in the American ale tradition, with 30 percent rye along with a hint of light caramel malt. Medium straw in hue, it announces its rich malt heritage. The hop character is nicely balanced to provide a nice clean finish after a hearty glass.

The Festival rye has a full malt flavor on the palate, but surprisingly refreshing in character. It's the perfect brew to wake up the taste buds and make way for a change in seasons.

Tied House's world-class Cascade Amber, along with Budweiser, Bud Light, Michelob Amber Bock and Bacardi Silver will also be served.

Wine lovers will be tempted by high-quality vintages from ten wineries including Bel Arbor, Napa Ridge, Nathanson Creek, Beringer, Stone Cellars, George Young by Firestone, BV Century Cellars, C.K. Mondavi, Haywood and Blossom Hill. Festivalgoers can sample from among chardonnays, sauvignon blancs, white zinfandel, cabernets and merlots, while champagne sippers will have the opportunity to enjoy a bit of bubbly by Stanford Cuvee Brut and Rocar.

Commemorative beer and wine glasses featuring the stylish festival logo will be available for $5. Non-alcoholic beverages will include Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite and water.
