Bank Robbery -- Bank of America, 8/27

At approximately 4:53 p.m., a man entered the Bank of America on Castro Street and stood in line to speak with a teller. When he approached the teller, he slipped her a note demanding money. Following standard training procedures, the teller passed him cash and the suspect left. The amount of money taken was not made available to the public by police.

The suspect is currently wanted by police. He is described as a white male, about 40 to 45 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to six feet tall and about 170 to 190 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a light-colored blazer and light slacks with a dark, button-down shirt, along with athletic shoes, a dark baseball hat with a white symbol and sunglasses. The suspect also had a light brown beard and was wearing latex gloves.


Assault with a Deadly Weapon -- Rengstorff Park, 8/28

At about 7:40 p.m., a 16-year-old male on a scooter was confronted by a 17-year-old male on a bicycle. The older boy challenged the younger boy to a fight, and the victim backed away and left his scooter. The 17-year-old then threw the scooter at the 16-year-old, who then ran away.

Minutes later, two male acquaintances of the scooter's owner went to the park to recover it. The two were confronted by the suspect, who brandished a knife and threatened to hurt them. The two backed away and called police.

Officers arrested the suspect for brandishing a weapon and assault with a deadly weapon and booked him at juvenile hall. The scooter was recovered.


Brandishing a Weapon -- 7-11 on Rengstorff Ave., 8/30

At approximately 9:49 p.m., police responded to reports of an attempted stabbing at a 7-11. Police arrived on the scene, where all parties had been detained.

During questioning, one juvenile subject was seen dumping out a crack pipe. He was issued a citation and turned over to his parents.

The would-be stabber was searched and was found to have an ice pick in his back pocket, along with a kitchen knife which he had used to threaten another person. The suspect, also on probation for a narcotics charge, was arrested for brandishing a weapon and taken to jail.
