MV police search for two suspects
(September 10, 2004) Mountain View police are looking for suspects involved in two separate attempted burglaries, occurring on the 800 block of East El Camino Real and the 1400 block of Ernestine Lane. Both incidents were reported within two hours of each other on Aug. 28. Female occupants reported being surprised in their bedrooms by a male intruder. Police said they aren't sure if the two incidents are related.
The suspect in the first incident is described as being 5-feet, 8-inches tall and wearing a black, long-sleeve shirt. In the second incident, the suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his mid- to late-30s, with wrinkles on his face on either side of his nose and a mustache. He is also described as being 5-feet, 8-inches tall, "less than average" build and wearing a dark-colored "beanie" style hat and white T-shirt.
Police are also looking for a male suspect in a Aug. 26 robbery and attempted assault of a female victim at the Washington Mutual Bank at 749 W. El Camino Real.
The suspect forced the victim into her car, and after she drove to another location, police said, he robbed the woman of her wallet and cell phone before she managed to escape.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 5-feet, 6-inches and 5-feet, 10 inches tall. He is of medium, athletic build with black hair. He was wearing a black shirt, baseball cap and sunglasses. The suspect's car is described as a royal blue Ford Ranger pickup truck.
