Man shot after dinner
(October 01, 2004) The Mountain View Police Department is investigating a shooting on Sept. 21 that left a man hospitalized, according to police spokesperson Jim Bennett.
Police received a report from a local hospital at around 8 p.m. that a 21-year-old man was being treated for a gunshot wound. Once police officers arrived on the scene, acquaintances of the victim informed them that the victim had shown up at their residence with a gunshot wound to the torso, said Bennett.
Prior to the incident, the acquaintances said they had finished dining with the man at Burrito Real on North Rengstorff Avenue at approximately 5:30 p.m., said Bennett.
The acquaintances took the man to the hospital for treatment.
The victim was unable to explain what happened due to his injuries, Bennett said. Police report that a "white truck'' may be involved in the shooting but have no further details.
The victim's injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, added Bennett.
