Obituary

Opal Collins, a Mountain View resident for 60 years, died Oct. 8 at the age of 90.

A native of Arkansas, she worked as a supervisor at Hewlett Packard for 35 years and opened a local preschool for children in Mountain View. Collins was also a member of the Palo Alto Elks Club.

Collins is the wife of the late Lee Collins and mother of the late Thomas (Buddy) Wood. She is survived by her daughters Angie Kelly and Marie Sheeks; sisters Gladys Hall of Redwood City and Leon Avery of El Cajon; and grandchildren Joyce Sheeks, David Wilson Jr., Karen Stickrod, Angela Summit and Albert Clifford, Jr.

Funeral services were held on Oct. 12 at the Mountain View Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries. Interment was at Alta Mesa Memorial Park in Palo Alto.
