Police Log Police Log (October 22, 2004)

Shoplifting and Auto Theft -- Sears, 10/10

At about 5:20 p.m., four male juveniles attempted to steal a variety of clothing, particularly sports logo clothing. As they fled the store, the police responded and cited all four and released them to their parents.

On Oct. 12, an officer located a stolen vehicle in the Sears' parking lot at approximately 10:45 a.m. Inside the vehicle, he found new clothing with the tags still attached. The officer investigated the situation and linked the stolen vehicle to the boys cited earlier for shoplifting.

The police contacted the juveniles at their school and arrested them. They were cited for shoplifting, conspiracy to commit a felony crime and auto theft, and released to their parents.

Trespassing -- 100 block of Central Ave., 10/14

Residents were in their living room watching television when they saw a man walking through their backyard at about 7:01 p.m. When they yelled at the suspect, he responded unintelligibly and continued to walk through their yard and exited.

The police did a search but were not able to locate the suspect. The suspect was described as a white male in his 40s, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with long dirty hair and a beard, and was wearing all black clothing with the word "ROCK" in red lettering on his shirt.
