Actional takes action

Actional Corporation and Westbridge Technology -- both Mountain View-based specialists in Web services -- have merged. The recently developed company operating under Actional's name is led by Tom Ryan, former CEO of Westbridge Technology.

Major investors from both companies participated in the $12.9-million transaction. Companies investing in the merge include Arrowpath, Venture Capital, Sevin Rosen and August Capital.

Shoreline Billiards in Mountain View is commemorating its 10-year milestone.

The billiards club has served a variety of clientele varying in age, gender, youth groups and skill level. Silicon Valley companies also use the spot as a unique alternative for recreation, team-building and networking.

To celebrate its 10th birthday, Shoreline is giving away lottery scratchers to inquiring customers. The tickets are redeemable for a variety of discounts that includes free games of pool.
