(December 24, 2004) "Avoid the Thirteen" Campaign Ongoing
The Mountain View Police Department will be participating in the Santa Clara Law Enforcement Agencies annual DUI Enforcement Campaign. The campaign will run from now until Jan. 2 and includes the installation of sobriety checkpoints throughout the county.
Additional officers will also be on patrol to conduct special DUI enforcement.
Guide to local trails available
The Mid-Peninsula Regional Open Space District has published the first guidebook to its preserves. The district, now in its 32nd year, maintains nearly 50,000 acres of open space in Santa Clara, San Mateo and Santa Cruz counties.
"Peninsula Tales and Trails," written by David Weintraub, features trail maps, trip guides and color photos from each of the 25 preserves. The 384-page book is available locally at Books Inc., Tower Books and Costco.
