The driver in a high-speed car chase that zipped through downtown Mountain View last Monday afternoon is still being sought.

At about 3:30 p.m., an off-duty San Mateo police lieutenant called in a suspicious vehicle on Whipple Road in Redwood City. The San Jose police department confirmed that the vehicle, a silver 1996 Honda Civic, was reported stolen.

The California Highway Patrol followed the car onto Highway 101 to downtown Mountain view.

The stolen car collided with a 2004 white Toyota Prius at the corner of Dana and Hope Streets without injuring anyone before fleeing the scene.

The Civic and its driver's whereabouts are still unknown. The driver, believed to be a Hispanic man, was with one male passenger and one female passenger.
