Special holiday schedules Special holiday schedules (December 24, 2004)

During the holidays, many public facilities and services will have altered hours. Check with individual stores and restaurants for their holiday hours.

* The Mountain View Public Library will be closed from Dec. 24 until Dec. 26. Special holiday check-out hours will be held from Dec. 27 to Dec. 30 from 1-5 p.m. The second floor of the library will be closed during these days; there will be no Internet, laptop or telephone services.

* The Mountain View Post Office will be open Dec.23 and Dec. 24 from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. It will be closed Dec. 25. Normal hours resume Dec. 26.

* The Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) buses and light rail will operate on a regular schedule with some exceptions. On Dec. 24, there will be no service on the express and limited stop buses. Regular service will be ongoing on the light rail shuttles.

On Dec. 25, there will be no service on express buses. Light rail and buses will be running on a Sunday/Holiday schedule. For more information, visit www.vta.org.

*Caltrain will have a regular weekly schedule on Dec. 24. On Dec. 25, Caltrain will run on a Sunday schedule. For more information, visit www.caltrain.com or call (800) 660-4287.

* The Mountain View Police Department "Cops Who Care" program is in full swing. Children from the community are invited to police offices at 1000 Villa St. to select a donated gift. Gift selection will take place on Dec. 23 from noon to 6 p.m. and Dec. 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
