Vandalism -- 1600 block of San Luis Ave., 12/19
Two 11-year old boys used a pickax and metal rods to chip away at freshly-poured concrete slabs. The slabs are part of a building project which will become Google's new child-care facility.
The juveniles used orange spray paint to vandalize concrete slabs, the walls of nearby Theuerkauf School, parts of the sidewalk and a fire hydrant. The damages are estimated to cost $25,000.
The boys stated no specific motivation for the spray painting. They were taken into custody, released to their parents and have citations to appear in court.
Sandwich theft -- 701 W. Evelyn Ave., 12/15
A man entered a Subway sandwich shop at 9:05 p.m. and ordered a foot-long chicken sandwich. When he reached the cashier, he was informed that he had not paid the full amount.
The man became frustrated, threw a bag of chips at the clerk and fled on foot to Castro Street with his sandwich. Officers arrived on the scene later but did not find the suspect.
