Police Log Police Log (February 04, 2005)

Suspicious circumstance -- Newton Drive and Waltham Street, 1/28

At 3:15 p.m., a 7-year-old boy was walking near Mountain View High School when he was stopped by two men in a white van with a yellow ladder on top.

The van pulled up to the child, blocking him from crossing the street. One of the suspects pointed at him, indicating for him to get into the vehicle. The boy turned and ran away. Both suspects were black males in their thirties.

Robbery by force -- Joe's U-Save, 2339 California Street, 1/28

A clerk at a liquor store was putting a bottle of vodka behind the counter when a 20-year-old woman attempted to pull it from his hands. She then forced it away from him and ran from the store.

Police later found the suspect at her residence in the neighborhood. The bottle of liquor, a $17.99 bottle of Belvedere vodka, was recovered. The suspect was arrested for robbery by force.
