Voices Around Town
(February 04, 2005) What is the more influential invention, the iPod or TiVo?
Asked in Downtown Mountain View. Pictures and interviews by Roseanne G. Pereira and Allison Gerard.
"The iPod because of the overall broad base of consumers who use it, more people from different backgrounds. There are only certain people who know about TiVo."
Michael Barrera, San Jose
"The iPod because it's more versatile. TiVo is more confined to the home. An iPod you can carry around with you anywhere."
Raksha Poria, Morgan Hill
"TiVo because I have three kids, and all of them can record the programs they want to watch. It's changed the way my family watches TV in our home.
Colin Britton, Waltham, Mass.
"I like the iPod. It's more portable, more prevalent. I think more people use it."
Kelly Yang, San Jose
"The iPod. I just think it's better."
Mirah Brown, Mountain View
