Fire put out at hospital
(February 25, 2005) A two-alarm fire at a Mountain View hospital on Tuesday morning forced the evacuation of three floors, according to a Mountain View Fire Department spokesperson.
The fire at El Camino Hospital, 2500 Grant Road, was reported at 10:11 a.m. and brought under control within 30 minutes, department spokesperson Lynn Brown said.
"It was pretty smoky. We wound up evacuating the fourth, fifth and sixth floors,'' Brown said.
The evacuees were taken to other floors of the hospital and no injuries have been reported so far, Brown said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and no damage estimate has been made yet, according to Brown.
