Police Log

A resident called the police at 6:33 a.m. to report that his car was being broken into and his stereo was being taken. When the police arrived, the suspect was leaving in what turned out to be a stolen vehicle.

The police followed the suspect until he crashed the car at the Shoreline Gate House and fled on foot. The police caught and arrested the suspect, who is still in jail on various charges.

The getaway vehicle was a 1994 Nissan truck that was stolen in Redwood City. The suspect arrested was Jose Luis Sanchez, a 20-year-old man from East Palo Alto.
