His colleagues speak out His colleagues speak out (April 29, 2005)

City council members have plenty to say about Greg Perry's opposition to the BART project and how it jibes with the city's position: Mike Kasperzak: The city still does not have a position contrary to the BART extension. We have voiced some concerns about it. ... It concerns me that he's trying to find the line, (and) that he knows he's treading on thin ice. Laura Macias: It doesn't seem to me that we're ready for BART when we can't seem to do the basics. Tom Means: We've sent a letter on the VTA plan and that's pretty critical of stuff. If you ask me personally if I would vote for BART, I'd say probably not, no. Matt Neely: I give him some credit for being a firm critic and helping to sway public opinion. (But) he's definitely misrepresenting the council. Matt Pear: I think the (North County) cities are left out of the equation as it currently stands ... It's a matter of equity for the residents of North County.

Nick Galiotto did not return multiple calls from the Voice seeking comment.
