Voices around town Voices around town (April 29, 2005)

Would you vote for a new sales tax to pay for BART to San Jose?

Asked in Downtown Mountain View. Pictures and interviews by Allison Gerard.

"No, I think if that money is going to be spent it needs to be spent on Caltrain and light rail, because there's no need to siphon from existing transportation projects ."

Chris Sadeghian, Mountain View
"No, because I can drive and it's just as cheap."

Kevin Jue, San Jose
"Yes, because I'm in favor of public transportation in general."

Nishant Deshpande, Menlo Park
"Yes, because it seems like if BART extended all the way around the Bay Area, it would be more useful to people."

Adrienne Yang , Mountain View
"I would endorse it if it also went to the airport in San Jose."

Richard Waldman, Mountain View
