Eagles football still unbeaten in league

Quickly erasing any possibilities of a hangover from its loss to Palo Alto the previous week, the Los Altos football team raced to a 28-0 lead en route to a 49-6 blowout win over Fremont on Oct. 21.

After winning four consecutive games, including its first two El Camino Division contests, the Eagles had challenged upper-division co-leader Palo Alto, but ultimately fell 35-14 on Oct. 14.

With Fremont (4-3, 3-1 El Camino) also undefeated in lower-division play entering its home contest against the Eagles, Los Altos effectively rebounded to show it has the ability to run the table in the league.

For the second game in a row, Eagles quarterback Richard Rullo and wide receiver Evan Nelson connected for a pair of touchdowns. Running back Jamar Watson also recorded two touchdowns as Los Altos posted its season-high in points scored.

The Eagles' defense held a Fremont squad that had averaged 20.3 points entering the game to a single touchdown late in the second quarter. The six points allowed tied Los Altos' season-best, also achieved against Harbor and Mountain View.

Los Altos (5-2, 3-0 El Camino) hosts winless Lynbrook on Oct. 29 before visiting Santa Clara in a showdown of undefeated El Camino Division teams on Nov. 5.
