Commercial burglary, Office Depot, 11/4
Police were called when store employees noticed two people acting suspiciously and matching the description of two suspects in a fraud case. Officers confronted the pair in the parking lot, where they say one of the suspects, parolee Charles Thornton of Oakland, 30, became combative and punched an officer in the face. He was placed under arrest, and his accomplice, Richard Phillips of Las Vegas, 47, was booked for using a fake ID to complete a credit application. A search of their car turned up narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
Theft, Goodwill, 855 E. El Camino, 11/4 just after midnight
Around midnight Thursday, police responded to a report of a suspicious person in a vehicle to find two people who appeared to have jumped the fence into part of the Goodwill Store. A number of electronic devices were neatly stacked by the fence.
Police arrested Pedro Diaz, 37, who they found hiding underneath a tarp, and Petra Robles, 39, for possession of burglary tools.
