(January 27, 2006) Nancy Conrad, author of "Rocketman" and wife of late moon-walking astronaut Pete Conrad, will give a lecture, "Rocketman: Pete Conrad's Ride to the Moon, Mars and Beyond," on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. at NASA Ames Research Center in the Eagle Room of Building 943. The talk is part of Ames' exploration lecture series, co-sponsored by the SETI Institute, and is free and open to the public.
Nancy Conrad has written for such publications as "One Giant Leap for Mankind," and she is co-founder of Space Available, a company creating virtual space adventures. Her talk will include anecdotes about her husband's moon landing and space exploration in the 1960s and '70s, as well as today's plans to commercialize space.
