Mt. View man arrested in alleged rape, molestation

Police arrested a Mountain View man Tuesday on charges of raping a 43-year-old woman and molesting her 2-year-old son.

According to Mountain View police, Tala Jeronimo, 32, was already acquainted with members of the victims' family and was frequently employed as a maintenance man in the family's mobile home complex. Just after midnight on Oct. 22, police say, he broke into the victims' home through a bedroom window and sexually assaulted the woman.

The woman, who reported the incident to police on Oct. 28, also told police that Jeronimo had molested her 2-year old son on earlier occasions.

On Wednesday at about 3:30 p.m., after two days of investigation and surveillance, Mountain View Police detectives arrested Jeronimo on Gish Road in San Jose. He was booked into the San Jose County Jail and charged with one count of forcible rape and one count of lewd acts with a child under 14. The investigation remains ongoing.
