Swallowtail on bougainvillea

For the Seen Around Town feature in the June 19 paper, Ed Perry of Franklin Street sent in this striking image of a swallowtail butterfly.

"It drank heavily from the nectar of our 'society garlic' plants before resting and recharging in the sunlight of our bougainvillea, where we caught its image. Obviously a butterfly of great taste!"

If you have a photo taken around town which you'd like published in the Voice, please send it (as a jpg attachment) to editor@mv-voice.com.

Thanks for posting the photo. We enjoy the butterflies moving in our garden.
