Last week an alleged marijuana dealer reported to police that his pot was stolen in a drug deal stick up. He got his robber arrested and remained free.
The unnamed 21-year-old and alleged drug dealer from Mountain View was allegedly robbed at gunpoint by 21-year-old Mountain View resident William Gibbs in a drug deal gone wrong. The incident occurred at the corner of University and College Avenue near Mi Pueblo market at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 20.
Gibbs was quickly identified and arrested outside his home and charged with robbery and possession of marijuana for sale. And though the victim basically admitted to be a drug dealer, Wylie said that without hard evidence he can't be arrested.
"This victim has just notified the whole MVPD that he's a drug dealer," said spokesperson Liz Wylie. "And we got a guy off the street who has a gun. We don't want a gun wielding dealer and robber on the street."
