Art: ‘Climate Change’ in Palo Alto
Local artist Michael Killen is currently showing three of his environmental-themed paintings at the University Art store at 267 Hamilton Ave. in Palo Alto. The art is part of his ongoing painting-documentary film project.

Tonight (Aug. 23) at 7 p.m. Mary Roach gives a free author talk about her book “Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void.” Roach’s book looks into the peculiar world experienced by those who travel in space, without privacy and hot showers, fresh vegetables and gravity. Her previous books include “Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers.” The event is at Kepler’s Books, 1010 El Camino Real, Menlo Park.
