Music: Stanford Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble with Ray Vega
Special guest Latin jazz trumpeter Ray Vega joins the Stanford Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble, directed by Murray Low, on Saturday, May 25, at 8 p.m. Vega was the lead trumpet player for Latin giants Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria, and Mario Bauza, and a jazz trumpeter with the Duke Ellington and Vanguard Jazz orchestras, as well as classical composer Osvaldo Golijov. what a combination: music and the hiking trails. this must kick-off the summer season. there are many events around the bay area. find what it is that you like and then go for it
