Man killed in single-car crash on Hwy. 280 is identified

The driver of a pickup truck who was killed in Los Altos Sunday morning has been identified by the Santa Clara County Coroner.

David Sena, 53, of San Jose was killed when he swerved on southbound Interstate 280 and struck the guardrail and center divider, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Ford pick-up was traveling south on 280 just north of Foothill Expressway just after midnight when Sena lost control, drifting onto

the right-hand shoulder and striking the right guardrail, according to CHP Officer Art Montiel.

The Ford then veered left and struck the concrete center divider wall, Montiel said.

No other vehicles appear to have been involved in the collision, Montiel said.

Sena was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and it is not known at this time if alcohol or drugs were a factor, Montiel said.

Witnesses are asked to call 650-369-6261.
