Arson is suspected to be the cause of the of the two-alarm fire that broke out early Sunday morning on the 1700 block of Fordham Way, according to investigators from Mountain View’s police and fire departments. The home was also burglarized and car was stolen.

The fire, which was reported at about 2:25 a.m. on March 16 and left a house seriously damaged, is believed to have started inside the residence, according to Sgt. Saul Jaeger, public information officer for the MVPD.

The fire was extinguished by about 3:30 a.m. and no other homes were damaged by the blaze. None of the occupants were home at the time of the fire and no one was hurt.

The person in possession of the stolen vehicle is wanted in connection with the arson and burglary of the residence, Jaeger said Monday afternoon in a press release.

Police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down the stolen vehicle, a light blue 2003 Audi A4, license plate No. 5HJM491. “If you see this vehicle, call 9-1-1 immediately, or 650-903-6395 and refer to case number 14-1411.” Anonymous tips may also be sent via text to 274637 –include ‘mvtips’ in the body of the message.
